Special Clinics Held in the Surgery
The Practice runs an antenatal clinic every Tuesday from 1:30pm – 3:15pm. Consultation is by appointment and is run with the help of the District Midwife, and ensures care during pregnancy and in the postnatal period.
The above service is suspended due to COVID – patients are now seen via the Hospital.
Annual Chronic Disease Management Reviews
Annual comprehensive reviews are carried out for patients with diabetes, chronic heart disease, asthma/COPD, stroke, hypertension, chronic kidney disease/epilepsy/mental health.
Appointments can also be made for routine smear tests with the Practice Nurse.
Family Planning Service
This is provided during regular surgery time and will include discussion on the various methods of contraception with their advantages and disadvantages.
- Baby clinic: This is held on a Wednesday morning and is by appointment only. Appointments will be given at 12 and 16 weeks for weight management and general advice. If appointment is not suitable, please contact Health Visitors on 01389 828274.
- 6 – 8 weeks developmental check: This is held fortnightly with Doctor and Health Visitor. Health Visitor will notify patients of appointment.
We also hold contracts with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde for the following “Enhanced Services”:
These include: rheumatic disease, second line drug monitoring and provision of services to patients with drug problems (Drugs Misuse Clinic – Thursdays 2:30 to 4:30pm).
An annual flu immunisation programme to protect the elderly and ‘at risk’.
- Minor Surgery Cases will be referred to the Vale of Leven Hospital.
- Foreign Travel: Advice can be sought from your doctor or Practice nurse.
